Ola, my friends! How's life treating you?
Oh, I've been missing you all so much! I just got back from an incredible vacation, but hey, did you forget about me? I know you missed me too, and I love every one of you! So, phew, that's sorted.
Let me spill the beans about my recent escapade to the dazzling city of Singapore—it was nothing short of scintillating! Picture this: magic, colours, love, warmth, beauty, radiance, and more. I'll spill all the details on Instagram and the blog soon, but let me sum it up for you right now—I loved every bit of it!
It's not just the attractions or the shopping that left me spellbound. There's something more profound that stole my heart—the freedom to navigate independently. This has always been a concern for me, especially when travelling within India. Being on my trusty 'electric throne' (aka wheelchair), I've often felt the lack of provisions for specially-abled folks and the scarcity of accessible restrooms, turning holidays into a bit of a struggle.
But not in Singapore! I witnessed fellow specially-abled individuals moving around effortlessly, and the best part? The warmth and accommodation displayed by the locals. I can't express enough how empowered and welcome I felt, revelling in this newfound mix of freedom and support. Kudos, Singapore! You're a gem, and I'll keep coming back for the warmth and compassion you shower.
And guess what? I finally experienced adventure park rides for the first time in my life. The adrenaline rush and pure joy were indescribable!
On the reading front, things have been a tad slower, but I'm staying true to my routines and catching up on my TBRs. Alakshya, The Love Story We Wrote, Parenting Tales, Technical (T)Error and Muntazir were some recent reads, and now I'm diving into Antim and December Rising. They're all fantastic, so if you're looking for a good read, don't hesitate to pick them up. Oh, and the Booker Prize was announced recently. Can you believe I didn't finish DNF before the results were out? The Prophet Song was the only one left incomplete. Oh well, no complaints—I'll finish it soon!
Stay tuned for reviews on Western Lane, Study for Obedience, and The Bee Sting. In the meantime, 'Ho Ho Ho,' tinker away, because Christmas is just around the corner, and I can't contain my excitement. The festive vibes, the snow, and all the merriment—I can't wait to celebrate with hot chocolate, my favourite plushie, some great books, and loads of records.
So, put that remote down, grab a book, and dive into another world! Merry Christmas, and I'll be back soon with more, I promise!
